Small cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was very good, all of the dishes looked great and tasted really good. Everything looked very good on the neighboring tables too. Food and drinks at very moderate prices.

Were guests on 2 evenings and were absolutely thrilled! Service very attentive and friendly, kitchen very good, as far as I can tell, price-performance ratio can't be beat. We would love to come back again! Ancient wisdom: Wherever the locals go, you are never wrong. And so it was.

The food was very good, onion beef for me, the venison goulash for my wife. Price / performance ratio is great. A little old, if you want to eat well and be full, this is the place for you. ?

Venison goulash! The venison goulash was excellent, very tasty. I can also recommend the onion roast with a clear conscience. Price performance is absolutely right here. You should make a reservation, the place is well attended. Cash preferred.

First of all, the food was ok but - corona rules are severely disregarded here. In the back dining room sit on 12 sqm 17 !!! People. A distance of 1.5 m from strangers is not possible and is deliberately not observed. But that's not all. Drunk locals who sit down at the regulars' table run drunk, staggering without a mask through the entire, already narrow, guest room to the toilet. That is not all, the best for last. A family with 3 children is sitting at a double table in the back left of the guest room. There are still 3 places available at the double table. The waitress actually sat 3 Italians at the same table. With the words: There are still 3 places free at the table, you have nothing against it. The family couldn't say anything more. Complete strangers at the same table without any distance. Otherwise the guest room was not ventilated. Never ever again ... if we hadn't been there first, we wouldn't be in there.

Super tasty food with a view of a 2000s .... Meal for 2 with drinks: € 30. Portions are a lot!

careful - they’ll charge you +2 EUR extra if you want to pay with creditcard as „their fees are so high“ - interesting argument to try to charge +10% extra for an 20 eur-bill...everything else was quite ok - so payment process was a real setback...sad how some owners just try to rip you off

Vegetarians don't have that much choice, but you'll find them. Was very tasty, nice service and very, very nice and quiet outdoor area.

We had a very good dinner, it was cheap, plentiful and hot, we were served very friendly and will definitely come again!

A very old restaurant, full of history, with delicious pasta and friendly waiters.

Friendly. Original Bavarian. Nice view. Perfect after hiking.

Informal place in the Bavarian atmosphere. Low prices. Excellent and plentiful food.

Simple but very good "gutbürgerliche Küche". No fuss, no starters or desserts, but just a good plate of food for a very nice price, provided by a good cook and served by a very friendly and personal waitress in a shady Biergarten. Here the villagers sit for a beer, a chat and a snack and occasionally a tourist comes by (at least in June). A must in Oberau!

A great place to stop on a hot day for a cold beer in the shade. Also has delicious Bavarian food. A quiet place with friendly staff.

Delicious. Firstly, one of the few places that work until late, secondly the prices are not very high, in the third there is free parking, in the fourth it is very tasty. Ate steak, soup and schnitzel and everything was delicious. Thank. Recommend.

Very very good and fresh, meals are well prepared. One of the best dinning experience to date. You could pay triple but you won't. Stop in and eat here. Oh yeah great locals !!!

Food is very good. Seasonal specials are delicious. Prices are better than in downtown Garmish. This is our favorite when visiting this area.

Very cozy. Offers local cuisine. The dishes are large and tasty. Prices are very reasonable. The staff is very helpful. Menu is available in German, Italian and English. I definitely suggest a visit if you are around.

Exceptional food and great atmosphere. Even though we could barely speak German and we can't understand Bayeurisch, we felt like home there. One should definitely try the Holzfällersteak!

Absolutely great food, reasonably priced, AND a wonderful welcoming attitude amongst the local clientele and the ownership that made "auslaender" feel like "stammtisch"! Can't wait to return. Oberau felt like home and the Oberau Alm like family!
